DREDGING OPERATIONS BEGIN AT THE PORT OF VAN DER KALDERA

To optimize the efficiency of commercial operations and reduce the waiting time for ships to reach caldera, costa rica, Sociedad Portuaria caldera (SPC) of sam-portaaria and the costa rica institute of Pacific ports (INCOP) recently conducted a $2.5 million dredging project.
 
Commenting on the latest news, Ricardo Ospina, SPC's chief executive, said: "we are committed to ramping up our dredging operations to continue to support trade and domestic economic growth, and we need our ports to be better equipped to accommodate vessels drawing as much water as possible."
 
The dredging operation at Van Oord involves removing sediment from the sea floor to restore the channel to its designed depth so that ships can dock safely at Puerto Caldera.
 
"The dredging operation meets all environmental requirements and will be monitored by the government's supervisory authority," Ospina added.
