Pipe floater is a floating collar commonly used in dredging projects and reclamation projects , dredging pipelines, sand pumping pipelines, sand dredging vessels, seawater laying pipe laying and dredging vessels. It is mainly used for laying on the surface of dredging vessels, sand blowers and dredging conveying pipelines in the ocean and rivers and lakes. In the actual use of pipe floater, the floater should also be examined in the following five ways (buoyancy, overall weight, plasticization degree of plastic shell, density of foam filled inside, and foamed pores of the floater) to judge the quality of the floater.

• 1. Buoyancy of the floater: generally, the buoyancy of the floater should be more than 30% of the weight of the pipeline itself (including the mud with a specific gravity of 1.3). When the pipeline is in operation, the exposed water level should be about 1/4 of the height of the steel pipe;
• 2. The overall weight of the floater: not less than 3-5% of the order parameters, because the weight of the floater is related to the weight of the floater's shell, and the specific gravity and volume of the floater's foam. If the weight of the floater is too light, the strength of the molded shell and the specific gravity of the foam can hardly be guaranteed. 
• 3. Plasticization degree of the floater's plastic shell: the surface of the plasticized floater should be flat and smooth without obvious particles, and the tensile resistance of the plastic shell is the best;
• 4. Density of inner foam: generally, it should be about 35kg/m3, and the tensile strength should be about 0.2mpa; Slightly elastic, not stick not brittle for qualified; Only the floater that guarantees the above product standard at the same time is the real durable good floater;
• 5. Floater foaming hole: the welding must be firm, if there is a leak, it should be repaired.

The floater of pipeline is of great significance to the cause of dredging and has made a great contribution to the water transportation.
